Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis) is a biennial herbaceous plant of the Onagraceae family. Native to North America, it is cultivated in Europe for its precious oil with remarkable properties. Borage (Borrago Officinalis) is an annual plant species of the Boraginaceae family, native to North Africa and common in Europe, where it is widely cultivated, particularly for its oil rich in fatty acids and often used in traditional medicine.
Both are now predominantly cultivated in Asia to meet growing demand, which is why choosing the right origin and quality is so important.
Evening primrose and borage seeds are naturally concentrated in polyunsaturated essential fatty acids: gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (GDLA). These essential fatty acids are vital for the proper functioning of our body, which cannot manufacture them on its own.
Fatty acids are major components of cell membranes, where they play an essential role: the cell membrane is a thin structure that envelops a cell, separating its contents from its immediate environment. It regulates the substances that can enter and exit the cell. Membranes well protected by quality fatty acids thus ensure generalized well-being.
Essential fatty acids promote the production of prostaglandins (chemical substances that regulate our body) which have a beneficial action on the skin, cell balance, and hormonal balance in general.
They must be provided by our diet, but are increasingly rare in it. Supplementation ensures an adequate intake of essential fatty acids.
It can be spotted on our skin: poorly hydrated and poorly nourished from within, it is often dry and rough, particularly around the elbows and knees.
In case of essential fatty acid deficiency, cracks under the feet and behind the heels may appear. The skin is also more fragile and thinner, and begins to form fine lines. The skin on the elbows is extremely dry or even cracked.
A course of evening primrose and borage is recommended during the cold season and when the skin shows signs of dryness or fragility. It is a source of female well-being throughout the year or in regular courses.
Djform French Evening Primrose and Borage Oil advantageously combines the benefits of two oils with similar and complementary properties.
Victims of their success, evening primrose oil and borage oil generally come from large-scale cultivation far from our regions, where quality standards are much less rigorous than French standards, even concerning organic oils. They are pressed there and then stored in drums, sometimes for years, before being put into capsules.
It is then impossible for the consumer to know the freshness of these oils: indeed, the BBE (Best Before Date) appearing on the labelling does not take into account the harvest date or the seed pressing date.
These oils are most of the time recognizable by the addition of vitamin E, most often synthetic, which then acts as an antioxidant, preventing the oil from oxidizing but not guaranteeing the durability of its properties. They may be refined, losing most of their properties during the refining process.
Djform French Evening Primrose and Borage Oil is one of the rare oils whose evening primrose and borage seeds are cultivated and pressed, as needed, in France. Indeed, essential fatty acids keep much better in the seeds. Pressing is carried out cold to keep all the properties of the seed intact. It is filtered through paper so as not to alter its quality.
It is 100% pure and natural. It is guaranteed preservative-free. It has undergone no chemical treatment. It is neither deodorized nor bleached.

The "plant-based capsule" is only plant-based in name! Behind a marketing facade, the plant-based capsule actually contains chemical residues. To always offer you the highest quality products possible, DJFORM has made the difficult but conscious choice to continue using fish gelatin or pullulan capsules, even if it means losing the ORGANIC label on some of its products.
